How do we solve a problem like Rihanna? Truth is, we don’t want to. Sometimes we hate how much we love her, but what can we say? We found love in a hopeless place, and this Barbadian “rebelle fleur” remains a constant fave, shining bright like a diamond, always giving us wild thoughts and never more than four, five seconds from wildin’... even when she’s putting in that work.

Today we hope she feels like she’s the only girl in the world, because our good girl gone bad just turned 30! So please don’t stop the music, because we’re pretty sure she’s going to run this town, pon de replay and pour it up until someone pulls out their umbrella and screams, “SOS, man down!”

And just because she’s the girl with not only the most cake, cake, cake, cake, but ever-evolving style, here’s a little celebratory retrospective of Robyn Rihanna Fenty—Fenty Beauty, if you’re nasty (OK, that was one hell of a birthday wish. Bitch better have my money).

I was not a fan (but not not a fan) until that brutal fucking live version of Stay. Grammys maybe? I cried, it was the song of my first marriage, and I’ve been a rabid fan ever since. She is lovely and perfect and amazing and all the fucking superlatives.

Happy birthday!
