Love ’em or hate ’em, Nike and LeBron James clearly have another hit on their hands: HFR x LeBron 16, their collaboration with Harlem’s Fashion Row, sold out in less than five minutes after going on sale at 10 a.m. EST on Friday morning.

The shoe, which is the first woman’s basketball shoe to be released by James’ line, also has the distinction of being the first in the series to be reimagined by women—in this case, black female HFR designers Undra Celeste, Kimberly Goldson and Fe Noel.

Fans of the history-making collaboration have proudly been tagging Harlem’s Fashion Row with their proofs of purchase, showing support for the accomplishments of founder Brandice Daniels and her trio of designers—and further proving that #blackgirlmagic is a bestseller.

Good. I could not pull these off myself (let alone afford them), but would enjoy seeing others wear them. I hope they catch on.

I love the idea of 3 talented people collaborating, but it seems like it often ends up with something weird—not enough room for all the ideas. Like that cover of “Lady Marmalade” with Christina, Lil’ Kim, and Mya — it’s a little much.
