Here at The Glow Up, we are firm believers in taking downtime when and wherever we can get it. But this weekend has presented us an opportunity to turn up that we simply couldn’t miss, as Essence kicks off its inaugural Beauty Carnival tour in New York City on April 27th & 28th!

Making the first stop on its tour—its second stop will be its established home at 25th anniversary Essence Festival in New Orleans July 5-7—the Essence Beauty Carnival is launching with some of the biggest names in the beauty and entertainment games. Attendees can expect to glean advice and insight from Ciara, YouTube sensation Jackie Aina, and iconic supermodel Iman, who will be presented with the 2019 Beauty Carnival Icon Award.

Also on hand? Some of The Glow Up’s favorites from the worlds of beauty and hair, including makeup maven Danessa Myricks, braid artist Shani Crowe, “fashion architect” Misa Hylton, and beauty & skincare expert Felicia Walker, all of whom will be sharing their expertise during the Beauty Carnival’s two-day stop at New York City’s Pier 36—and tickets are still available, starting at $30.

Can’t make it in person? The event will also be live-streaming from Essence’s YouTube page, so you don’t have to miss a beat of the beautiful action!
