Here’s some “big hair, do care” news for the curly and coiled community: TextureMedia, the company behind multicultural online hair mecca Naturally Curly, has been acquired by Essence Communications. The new partnership promises an even stronger, broader, multilayered platform for their community of over 17 million worldwide, per Naturally Curly’s Q1 Texture Trends newsletter, released Friday afternoon:

What can we expect now that the leading online resource, community and marketplace for naturally textured and curly hair has joined forces with the largest, oldest and most esteemed media platform for black women? We don’t know the specifics yet, but can’t help but look forward to big, beautiful things to come!
