The Glow Up Anthem of the Week: Janelle Monáe and Pharrell Got the Juice

We promise, we’re going to stop with the all-Janelle Monáe-everything ... just as soon as we listen to Dirty Computer about 200 more times. But seriously: We’ll definitely give you a break next week, but for the second week in a row, the artist occasionally known as Cindi Mayweather has The Glow Up’s hearts—and ears—with her single “I Got the Juice,” our Anthem of the Week.

A pair-up with perpetual hit-maker Pharrell Williams, “I Got the Juice” is equal parts schoolyard chant and Afrobeat-laced jam (think Beyoncé’s “Grown Woman” with Prince guitar riffs and a heavy dose of cool-kid swagger). It’s also the ultimate fly-girl pep talk, making it perfect for #FearlessFriday here at The Glow Up. Just get a load of these lyrics, and tell us you don’t need this timely reminder at the ready:

Now go on girl and use that sauce (that sauce)
If you don’t, then that’s your loss (your loss)
If you don’t, then that’s your loss
Turn it up, don’t turn it off

While we’ve been teasing it for weeks, Dirty Computer officially dropped today, so consider yourself blessed for the weekend. Go forth in flyness, Glow Up gang!
