The death of rapper Nipsey Hussle continues to be mourned by communities around the world, but now there’s another way to support his vision and help out his family in the process. This week, Puma Brand and Marketing Global Director Adam Petrick announced that the company’s collaborations with Hussle (real name: Ermias Joseph Asghedom) that were in progress at the time of his death will continue, and even more will be done to keep his legacy alive.

“He was somebody that was doing great stuff, and he had this idea about how he could improve the community and how he could push for that,” Petrick said during a conversation at the Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything Festival. “The concept of working with Nipsey just made sense.

“We had a lot of things that were coming, and hopefully a lot of things we will still do with his estate. ... We will be honoring that. ... We’ll work with his family and we’ll support his kids and we’ll do a lot of interesting things,” he added.

“We’re going to continue to release some product that we created with him. We’ve also got some charity activations that we’ll do to support what he was doing in Crenshaw, and trying to build out, or continue the work that he was doing through his foundation now. It was originally him, and he was the one driving it; now his family and the people around him have built a structure so that we can continue to help the community.”

The Root will provide updated details when release dates and events are confirmed.
